In this three-evening series, based on Sensei Jacobs book “The Original Buddhist Psychology,” we will revisit some teachings of original Buddhism and consider their implications for one’s personal path. The focus of the series is on practice with perception processes, causation, feelings, and karma. We will consider analyses of perception and consciousness phenomena from different scales of observable experience, in and out of formal meditation.  Early Sutras and some charting of our own experiences will provide different facets of observation.  Our study will be examined in light of its natural help in relinquishment, and in psychological and consciousness development.  Although our study is from original Buddhism, the focus is held through the statement of Eihei Dogen that carefully studying the self frees the self.
